SPIRO-GROOVE GROOVES

A common issue with pumps for hard pumpable media (such as waste, sewage, pulp) is the accumulation of impurities in the stuffing box, resulting in premature wear and tear and the malfunction of the mechanical seal.

SPIRAM pumps incorporate a special component - the Spiro-Groove, consisting of an expeller groove on the back plate and an expeller ring on the conical surface of the stuffing box, which are continuously interconnected, maximizing the "expelling" effect of fine impurities from the stuffing box back into the pump chamber.

This method of "protection" for the mechanical seal is also present when pumping fibrous materials. Additionally, such a groove is included on the front plate, preventing the entanglement of fibrous materials around the impeller.
