The SPIRAM Gyra pre-rotation system is an optional component of SPIRAM‘s submersible pumps. Its principle of operation involves creating a rotating vortex in the accumulated wastewater in the station, gradually sweeping away floating debris from the surface. This ensures maintenance-free and reliable operation without the risk of pump blockage, preventing the acumulation of waste in the pumping station or "cakes" on the surface.
Another advantage of the system is maintaining the pump's operating point at low flow rates. The rotational flow affects the velocity fields on the impeller, resulting in the adjustment of the operating point towards lower flows on the performance curve. This is desirable in terms of maintaining the debris-sweeping effect while simultaneously reducing the power consumption of the pump.
